To expose the lying spirit we must understand what is spiritual warfare?
Spiritual warfare is the lie combatting against the truth or vice versa.
11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead and prosper, for the Lord will deliver it into the king’s hand. 12 Then the messenger who had gone to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Now listen, the words of the prophets with one accord encourage the king. Therefore please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak encouragement.” 13 And Micaiah said, “As the Lord lives, whatever my God says, that I will speak.” 14 Then he came to the king; and the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain?” And he said, “Go and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand!” 15 So the king said to him, “How many times shall I make you swear that you tell me nothing but the truth in the name of the Lord?” 16 Then he said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said, ‘These have no master. Let each return to his house in peace.’ ” 17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Did I not tell you he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?” 18 Then Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on His throne, and all the host of heaven standing on His right hand and His left. 19 And the Lord said, ‘Who will persuade Ahab king of Israel to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ So one spoke in this manner, and another spoke in that manner. 20 Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, and said, ‘I will persuade him.’ The Lord said to him, ‘In what way?’ 21 So he said, ‘I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And the Lord said, ‘You shall persuade him and also prevail; go out and do so.’ (2 Chronicles 18:11-21)
Ahab was wicked. He married the witch Jezebel.
As Ahab is going through this and does not listen, he is going to be dealt with what he deserves by the Lord.
The Lord sent a lying spirit to Ahab a part of God’s wrath.
You become deceived when you fall in love with lies.
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)
Why did God send delusion? Why did the lying spirit come?
Because they don’t love the truth.
Delusion in greek means a wandering mind.
A mind that is also in error that leads to deception.
Deception is the fruit & the lie is the seed.
There’s a process to becoming deceived and that’s first believing the lie.
So if you don’t love the truth you will become sensitive to falling into the enemy’s lies.
The GREATEST lie is when people believe that the LIE is their TRUTH.
You gotta love THE truth, not YOUR truth.
Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. 43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.” (John 8:42-47)
Jesus spoke to these religious people back in the day and they did not receive what He was saying here.
The devil is the father of lies & Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. (1 Timothy 4:1-5)
Another translation says ‘seducing spirits’ instead of ‘deceiving spirits’.
They don’t just deceive you they are also seducing you at the same time.
The more you hear a lie the more you start to believe it as truth unless you test it against the actual truth.
There’s a difference between what’s true and what’s truth.
What can be true in one season does not mean it’s true in the present season.
Truth is God’s word. Truth is I’m the head and not the tale. Truth is He who is within me is greater than he who is in this world.
Truth never changes. Truth is God’s word that lives & abides forever.
Sanctification is to be set apart and to be made holy.
Making decisions that are set apart from this world.
Be set apart by the word of God & prayer.
3 KEYS TO OVERCOME A LIE
#1 God’s word
His word is truth.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
Fight back lies with truth.

#2 Prayer
Praying to Abba Father
Prayer opens up the floodgates of heaven and allows the impartation of divine revelation.
#3 Love truth
You must love the truth.
Since they did not love truth God sent strong delusion.
