How To Stay Pure For God

In order to stand in the presence of God, it is essential to possess purity, yet it is God’s presence that purifies us.

Purity is not synonymous with perfection; it is about being set apart and being free from corrupt desires.

The cleansing power of Jesus’s blood can purify us.

#1 Prioritize God’s Word Amid Life’s Noise

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105)

To cleanse one’s way and avoid straying from God’s commandments, seek His word with all your heart.

Hide His word in your heart to guard against sin.

“Embrace His statutes, meditate on His precepts, and take delight in His word.” (Psalm 119:9-16)

Make God’s word the foremost guide, as it is the best way to hear His voice.

#2 Protect Your Heart

“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23)

“Guard your heart, for it shapes the course of your life. Remove deceitful speech and perverse lips from your mouth. Keep your gaze fixed forward, ponder your path, and establish your ways. Avoid turning to evil.” (Proverbs 4:23-27)

#3 Safeguard Your Mind, Capturing Every Thought

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)

Transformation begins with a renewed mind.

“Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:5-6)

#4 Set Yourself Apart

Be pure, holy, and sanctified, set apart from the world, darkness, confusion, uncleanness, and evil.

“For God has called us to holiness, not uncleanness.” (1 Thessalonians 4:7)

#5 Reverence for the Lord

The fear of the Lord signifies reverence, honor, and respect toward God.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7)

“The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate.” (Proverbs 8:13)
