God\u2019s will is found in God\u2019s word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you want to move in God\u2019s will you must understand God\u2019s word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus tells us to deny ourselves, pick up the cross & follow Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, \u201cIf anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. (Matthew 16:24)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
God says \u2018IF\u2019 meaning we have free will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s ultimately up to us to \u2018desire\u2019 Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A desire to follow Him, obey Him, surrender to Him\u2026 to stir up a hunger and thirst first for Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You never know, you might be the only bible someone reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is a saying \u201cOut of 100 people, 1 will read the bible and 99 will read you\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
#1 Surrender<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let him deny himself is what Matthew 16:24 starts with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You are denying your flesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You\u2019re denying self.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The flesh wants to glorify self.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The spirit wants to glorify God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My ability to deny myself is to say \u201cGod I trust you\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m willing to let go of the addiction, I\u2019m willing to let go of the lies that came from culture & this world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
#2 Take up that cross<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What does this mean?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jesus took up that cross which was a sacrifice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your cross is your sacrifice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What are you willing to sacrifice? Everyone has their cross, they have their sacrifice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you ever want to build your altars, it requires a sacrifice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You\u2019re either building godly altars or ungodly altars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Altars are where covenants are activated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
#3 Follow Jesus<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once we\u2019ve decided to surrender and sacrifice\u2026 we must choose to continue to let Jesus lead us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We must follow Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following Jesus is continuous obedience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And sometimes we can\u2019t get NEXT instruction if we don\u2019t have NOW obedience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you love Jesus, you will obey His commandments (John 14:15)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May His ways guide us & lead us into all righteousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His plans are always better than ours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Surrender Sacrifice Obedience<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As we continue to study Matthew 16:24 we can sum it up with these 3 simple concepts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can also find this teaching in Romans 12:1<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Scripture interprets scripture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May the Lord of glory continue to cover you under His righteous right hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Give it all to Jesus! & let the Holy Spirit fill you up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You might have the Holy Spirit, but does the Holy Spirit have you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
